Welcome to Kairos

One thing I love to do is read. I don't recall what I was reading , but several years ago, I came across this sentence...

" In the midst of the ordinary time (Kronos), extraordinary time (Kairos) happens."

I recall the word, Kairos, a word I was not familiar with, jumping off the page at me. At first, I simply liked the way it sounded and I thought it was just a cool sounding word. But after some deeper digging and research into its meaning, what I discovered was a word that really resonated with me.

Where the Greek word Kronos (Κρόνος) is where we get chronological, sequential or linear time, Kairos (καιρός) is also an ancient Greek word meaning the right or opportune moment (the supreme moment, the perfect moment).

• In its classical use, Kairos is "a passing instant when an opening appears which must be driven through with force if success is to be achieved"

• In Christian theology, Kairos means "the appointed time in the purpose of God"; it’s the time when God acts!

• Kairos is making the most of the opportunity- the Now - similar to Carpe Diem ...

"Seize the Day"

• Kairos is a time when something special happens.

And so, I decided it would make a strong name for a business. Thus, Kairos Benefit Advisors was born. From the beginning, it has always been my hope, my dream and a core value of Kairos Benefit Advisors, that the work I do for my clients is for something special to happen in their lives and that as I help guide and advise, that they fully seize and make the most of “the opportune moment” before them.

My plan for this blog is to offer and share helpful content and resources to help guide and educate my clients and any visitors here on various financial, insurance and risk related topics as I myself continue to study and learn about the ever changing world of Employee Benefits, Tax efficient Retirement income, Life Insurance, Long Term Care and Executive benefits for small business owners. My desire is to help foster conversations and help all families create more certainty and predictability in their financial preparations through insurance and benefits, and reducing financial stress in their lives. The time is Now.
